Intro, ✨️BIG✨️ News, & My Writer-versary
A little about me, publishing news, & my writerly origin story.
Who, Me?
I'm M. Laursyn and I'm an author, mom, wife, and artist based in Georgia. I'm drawn to just about all things creative, and have experimented with multiple forms of art in the past. Writing is something I never considered doing (more on that later), but it gave me the ability to unleash all of the stories running through my head, and I fell in love. When I'm not writing, I'm making memories with my crew of boys - my husband, our toddler, and our dachshund.
THE News
I signed with the amazing Conquest Publishing for my debut novel, 319 LIES! I cannot express how grateful and excited I am to be part of this incredible team. The Conquest & Wild Ink family is smart, creative, supportive, and I can't wait to jump into the editing process this year. 319 LIES is set to release in June of 2026!
•Shae is a student with a secret, and Devan, her professor. As normalcy unravels, they find solace in each other's arms. Through this, Devan unveils the truth: Shae is caged in inescapable lies. When Devan finds her in danger, he intervenes and is deemed a villain, and Shae his hostage. Together they must expose the liars, or face death.•

How It Started
As I mentioned earlier, I'm no stranger to artsy endeavors. And I mean LOTS of them. That means everything from drawing, painting, photography... all the way to woodburning, macrame, and all the things in between. I've found that being creatively stagnant leads to gloominess, at least for me.
Anyways. I love to read. I found that out after college, surprisingly. Something about people not forcing me to read anymore made me want to devour the smallest to the fattest doorstop books I could find. Go figure. Writing them, though? Never occurred to me. The idea of being an author was beautiful, I just didn't think I had anything interesting to say.
Fast forward to this time last year. I'm a graphic designer of some flavor for my day job. Lots of digital drawing that allows my mind to wander. It began with just one scene. A pinch of a scene, really, but it was SO vivid. And the story wouldn't stop unfolding. No big deal, until it was. After about a week of these two characters drowning my mind, I decided to start righting the snippets down in my notes app. It exploded from there. I had around twenty thousand words in notes before I made the decision to take it a little more seriously and move it into an actual word document. Six months later and I had a manuscript.
Now I don't want to question the magical force that threw the idea into my head. All I'm sure of is that I've found my passion in writing. Since 319, I've started two new projects (one of which has totally invaded my heart), and submitted work to an anthology submission.
I could go on forever about all of this, but I know you have things to do! So for now, thank you for reading. I can't wait to bring you more writing news in the future.
Be good to each other. 🖤
